Congratulations to my beautiful sister on her brand new beautiful baby girl! I haven't been able to see her yet because of strict yet reasonable hospital rules for the flu season but I plan on seeing her later today and I CAN'T WAIT!
So on another topic...on the way home from a baby shower tonight my 'baby' starts to yell "don't!" from the back seat. He's not angry about it he just thinks it's funny. Which it is. I crack up and ask him if I heard him right and he says "ya, I said DON'T!". The kid cracks me up!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am so happy to start a new year. This one has so many good possibilities that could make my families lives so much sweeter. I'm hoping to lose enough weight that I'm actually okay looking at myself in the mirror. I'm excited to have my Casey be going to school. It makes us all so much happier. Luke is always cheerful to give his daddy kisses and wish him well at school. Well, it sounds more like blah blah blah school blah daddy, but he smiles, blows kisses, and waves when he says it so it must be loving! If all goes according to plan(I know it never does but it's better to be an optimist) we could potentially be moving to a much more suitable place of living by years end. We hope to get pregnant sometime this year with our second baby which is exciting and stressful at the same time.
I'm super excited to get a new niece any day now to love and spoil! And there's always lots of surprises every year. Which is what gives fuel for blogging!

Happy Birthday Lucas!

So Luke is two now. It went by in a rush. I swear he just turned one! Thanks to everyone who attended his birthday parties. He loves his gifts! Now if I could just get him to willingly part himself from those gifts to take a much needed nap. Then again...he is two. I had to move his slide right next to his dresser so he can look upon his 'shishies'(fishies) any time he likes. This makes it much easier than stopping everything I'm doing 45 times a day to lift him up to see them for 3 minutes each visit. I'm sooo grateful for my little boy. He's one of my best friends in the whole world! I couldn't live without him. Happy Birthday my sweet Boy!

Luke Will Be Two!
I am so nervous for Luke to turn two! It makes me realize what a baby I was when I had him. When he graduates high school I will only be 38! I want to get cracking to have the rest of my kids, though. The faster I have them, the faster they will be out of the nest and me and Casey can go back to courting one another. I love the whole family thing.

Okay, I know I'm a little late, but we should be thankful more than one day of the year, so here is my list of things I'm thankful for.

I'm thankful for my husband who has made such a big effort lately to be kind and loving and a greater help to me. I'm thankful for my son who makes me smile every morning when the first word he says is 'momma!'. I'm thankful for the essential things I have; a roof over my head and not having to live with others to get it(been there, done that!), food to put on my family's table, warm clothes to dress my baby in, a church house near by, and loads of family to support and love me. I'm thankful for books to help me escape for a few minutes a day. I'm thankful for the chance I have to be a wife and a mother. And I'm thankful for my faith that keeps my head screwed on to my shoulders and gives me strength to look at next month, next year, and the next century.

Lovely McKay Dee ER

Sunday night/Monday early morning was very eventful. My poor husband was writhing in pain on the sofa trying to convice me(or himself) that the pain in his face wasn't that bad. Tears on a man means somethings wrong in my book, so off the the ER we went. Not to Davis Hospital because ya know I just didn't want him to be butchered so we went all the way to McKay Dee in Ogden. There are no babysitters at 1:00 am so little Lukey was taken from his crib in the middle of the night.
I have the best baby in the world. He didn't shed a tear. He thought we were going on a very cool adventure and was jabbering about his excitement the whole way to Ogden. Of course he was too keyed up to fall asleep, so he was awake the entire "adventure" and about 30 minutes after he was put back to bed in the early morning.
I'm happy to report that my wonderful husband will survive his face(HA!) IF he will take care of it.
My toddler, however, now thinks that he should stay up extra late at bedtime just in case we decide to go on another exciting adventure.

The Horrible Dishes

The truth is that doing dishes WITHOUT a dishwasher is the bane of my existence. The horrible pain of standing there for an hour while touching slime and food crust on dishes (because some members of the household don't believe in rinsing after using) just makes my OCD go on red alert. Gag reflexes get a workout and the counter usually ends up covered in drying dishes for the next 12 hours while they dry.
Don't get me wrong, I am SO grateful for the roof I have over my family's head. I couldn't be more thrilled that I am not forced to live in any one's basement. I just would like a little technology to give me hand in my housework. Thankfully I do have a husband who will do a load if I ask REALLY sweetly ; )

And yes, I do look exactly like that while doing the dishes. Pearls and all.
